"Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything."
What are we doing in Music?
Preschoolers are delving into pitch and beat through singing, movement, and the help of two special friends. Ask your child about Benji the Frog or Charlie and his slides!
Students in primary grades are learning about music through singing, playing various instruments, movement, pitch exploration, and many music games. 2nd and 3rd graders are learning to read music and play notes and rhythms written on a page! 3rd graders are applying this new knowledge to recorders, while 4th graders are implementing these skills with ukulele.
5th-8th graders have the opportunity to sign up for music electives. Choices offered during the second trimester include Chorus, Advanced Band, Ukulele, Songwriting, and Piano.
Why do we love music?!
On the third Friday of each month, we host a jam session to benefit the music program. The money raised helps fund band instrument repairs, district festivals, and music enrichment opportunities for all students.
Jam sessions include live music, dancing, open mic opportunities (for community members and students!), and delicious food. Please consider joining us for an evening of music!
